The Sea Bream Comes To Sète (3/3)

In September, the favourite subject of conversation in the city of Sète, near Montpellier in France, is the migration of the sea bream. That is when the fish start their migration to the saltwater Lake Thau where mussel farming flourishes. They feed on the tiny mussel spawn on the breeding ropes. As the temperature drops, when the time is right and the current is the most effective, the fish rush out, and thousands of people gather on the bank along the Point-Courte peninsula to attempt to catch them. But many bream still make their way back out to sea, only to follow the scent of more mussel spawn. Presented by Silvio Rivier.
